Fraunhofer ENAS presents together with ten more Fraunhofer instituts within the Fraunhofer Group for Microelectronics , together with the IHP GmbH - Innovations for High Performance Microelectronics and the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, Leibniz-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik, the »Research Fab Microelectronics Germany« at the Fraunhofer pavilion. To reinforce the position of Europe’s semiconductor and electronics industry beside global competition a concept for a cross-location research factory for microelectronics and nanoelectronics was developed. On April 2017, this new form of cooperation got off the ground. The concept for the research fab was designed jointly by Fraunhofer and Leibniz to combine their skills in a pool for technologies.
The research institutes shows their joint competencies within demonstration samples and presentation slots to the topics »Power Electronics (Towards to Zero Power)«, »Smart Sensor Systems (Sensors, Radar, LiDAR)«, »System Integration Technologies (Assembly, Packaging, 3D)« and »Communication Technologies (Optical Data Communication, High-frequency Transmission)«.
