Fraunhofer ENAS presents together with the High Performance Center »Smart Production« developments concerning sensor integration in machine components.
In the High Performance Center „Functional Integration in Micro- and Nanoelectronics“ the Fraunhofer instituts ENAS, IPMS, IZM, IIS, IWU, IKTS cooperate within the project SdSeMa - Structure-integrated wireless sensor/actuator technology for manufacturing systems. The project SdSeMa aims at the research on approaches for structure-integration of sensors into manufacturing systems using a ball screw drive as an example. The developed solutions, methods, and technologies apply to a lot of applications for functional integration in machine construction where an insignificant retroactive effect on machine and components, minimal form factor, robust installation in machines, intelligent data logging, preprocessing and wireless data transduction is relevant. The offered technologies result from a synergetic cooperation of different Fraunhofer institutes combining their competences to build competitive and innovative solutions.
Furthermore, Fraunhofer ENAS introduces various high-precision Silicon sensors, printed humidity sensors as well as sensor systems such as a electronic sealing or a monitoring system for greases in rolling bearings.
