Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems
The Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems ENAS is the specialist and development partner in the field of Smart Systems and their integration for a wide range of applications. In the three business units - Process, Device & Packaging Technologies, Smart Systems, and Test and Reliability Solutions - we address topics ranging from technology development to components, from System on Chip (SoC) and System in a Package (SiP) to System of Systems (SoS). This definition is in line with the system definition in the ECS SRIA - the Electronic Components and Systems Strategic Roadmap Agenda, which is jointly developed and published by the three industry associations AENEAS, EPoSS, and Inside. It includes the focus areas for research and development in the field of electronic components and systems, as well as the Key Digital Technologies (KDT) for the next 10-15 years.
The developments in the first two business units extend to the component or subsystem level but also address application-ready subsystems (SoC and SiP). The Test and Reliability Solutions business unit focuses on testing and reliability of components and systems, including data analysis, evaluation, and visualization. The cross-sectional topics of Fab Management, Corporate Strategy, and International Sales are represented in the cross-funtional topics of the institute.
