The Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems ENAS received the ISO 50001:2018 certification by DEKRA in December 2024.
Following the successful participation of Fraunhofer ENAS in a Fraunhofer-wide pilot project to introduce an energy management system as part of the Fraunhofer climate strategy, the institute is committed to systematically increasing energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption – an important step towards sustainable resource use and climate protection. To this end, the energy consumption is continuously monitored and optimized and work is being done on the effective implementation of the system in existing processes.
The measures already implemented at the institute reduced the total energy consumption by 7.62% between 2021 and 2023. CO2 emissions were also reduced by around 50 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year.
