Integrated hydrogen sensor.

As part of the Reference Factory.H2, Fraunhofer ENAS demonstrates inkjet printing technology that can be used for the production of CCM/MEA.

In order to enable the high rate capability of the production of catalytic coated membranes (CCM) with simultaneous efficient use of catalytic materials (e.g. platinum), Fraunhofer ENAS has further developed the inkjet printing process. Fraunhofer ENAS is thus able to produce a Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) for the use in fuel cells or electrolyzers by means of inkjet direct printing on a membrane. We also present inks developed by us for the inkjet printing process of membranes.

Sensors for measuring high hydrogen concentrations in hydrogen systems

Together with Chemnitz University of Technology, we are presenting a broadband sensor based on the reversible interaction of hydrogen with metal. The sensor can be used to determine high hydrogen concentrations at high humidity. The reliable, sustainable, durable and robust sensor system can be used for gas monitoring in fuel cells, e-mobility, decentralized power generation, aerospace technology, H2 production and electrolysis.
