Microfluidics for Lab on Chip Systems

Microfluidic integration of biosensors

Sensors are the central element of every miniaturized analytical system. They show the presence of relevant target substances with the change of a physical measureable value (e.g. electric charge, optical radiation, impedance,…). For an optimal operation, many sensors rely on a proper microfluidic infrastructure.

We develop in close cooperation with our customers solutions for the integration of their biosensors into microfluidic environments. Therefore, we analyze the application scenario (on-line measurements, laboratory use, Point of Care,…) and the analytical conditions and deduce necessary microfluidic and other functional components. In parallel, the necessary interfaces (fluidic, electric, optic, mechanic) are analyzed and designed with respect to the customer specifications.

With our in-house competencies and technologies, we provide all steps along the development chain: starting from concept to rapid prototyping to functional demonstrators. Additionally we provide support for the transfer into products.
