Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems
The cooperation with the universities ensures synergies between basic research at the university and the more application-oriented research at Fraunhofer ENAS.
Fraunhofer ENAS is closely networked with the local universities at the Fraunhofer sites, especially with the Chemnitz University of Technology and the University of Paderborn.
The main cooperation partner at TU Chemnitz is the Center for Microtechnologies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. This cooperation not only includes joint research projects, but also involves the joint use of equipment and facilities, buildings and infrastructure. Moreover Fraunhofer ENAS cooperates with the Center for Materials, Architectures and Integration of Nanomembranes (MAIN) at Chemnitz University of Technology.
The department Smart Wireless Systems of Fraunhofer ENAS is not only locally located at the University of Paderborn. They also collaborate in the areas of electromagnetic reliability and compatibility, wireless power and data transmission, wireless sensor nodes for mechanical engineering, and application-specific integration of AI methods.
Long-standing, international collaborations exist with Tohoku University Sendai (Japan), Fudan University Shanghai (China), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), University of the State of Amazonas (Brazil), Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil) and Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (Brazil).
