The continuous measurement of liquid levels in different environmental conditions (e.g., high temperature) has a wide range of uses in different industries. Fraunhofer ENAS has developed a CMUT-based miniaturized liquid level sensor that is sensitive to very small changes in the liquid level. The sensor can also be used for leak detection, particularly for small-volume fluid reservoirs, where sensor size and detection precision are crucial. The sensors can be used in contact or non-contact modes, and they are unaffected by fluid coating on the sensor surface.
