A very close collaboration exists between Fraunhofer ENAS and the Center for Microtechnologies (ZfM) of the Chemnitz University of Technology (CUT).

With the Center for Microtechnogies, its clean rooms and technological equipment, the faculty of Electrical Engineering & Information Technology possess a special scientific operating unit. It is the bases for the production of prototypes and pilot-run series, for the development of technologies and materials as well as for the training of students, trainees and young researches in step with research and actual practice. The cooperation results in a common use of equipment, facilities and infrastructure as well as in the cooperation in research projects. The strategic alliance between Fraunhofer ENAS and ZfM ensures synergies in technology and system development.

A similar close cooperation exists between Fraunhofer ENAS department Printed Functionalities and the Chair Digital Printing and Imaging Technology the faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the CUT.

The department of Advanced System Engineering located in Paderborn continues the close cooperation with the University Paderborn especially in the field of electromagnetic reliability and compatibility.
